We are a federation of five schools located in Barreiro, a growing town stationed on the left bank of Tagus River, opposite Lisbon. It is a state organisation which has 138 teachers 1824 students, whose grades range from kindergarten to year 12.

 

As it has all levels of education, it obviously provides basic education up to year 9. As for upper secondary education, apart from providing general education (Sciences and Technologies, Languages and Humanities, Socio-economics and Visual Arts), this school year it offers four vocational courses (Graphic Design, Interior and Exterior Design, Marketing and Commerce) as well. Moreover, our federation of schools also has structured teaching units in all levels of education for students with specific educational needs.

 

The school environment in our federation of schools is characterised by a healthy atmosphere among the different elements of the school community. Throughout the school year many activities, whose goals go beyond the curricular ones, are carried out on a consistent basis in all our five schools so that our students can evolve as citizens, feel integrated, develop their creativity and achieve their highest potential. Hence, using high impact teaching strategies, integrating innovative pedagogical strategies into the teaching and learning process and developing local, national and international projects are part of our school routine.

In short, we are an inclusive federation of schools that proactively and diligently works to promote welcoming environments which foster effective teaching, learning, and student achievement.
